INTRODUCTION United Metal Industries was started by Mr. P. K. Sharma 1980 .What began as a small family venture, based on a foundation of dedication, hard work and hope, grew in strength and purpose over the years. The company, making its name with its fabrication and metal Equipment - with highly motivated staff - is now a well-recognized manufacturing export house with AN ISO 9001- 2008 UNIT United Metal industries is a small unit set - up in April 1978. It is registered with District Industries Center (DIC). Jabalpur having permanent registration. The firm is headed by partners who are engineering and management graduates. Partners are assisted by qualified ,experienced staff for execution of work with effective quality control. The unit is a partnership firm and the Partners are highly experienced  having tremendous administrative capability. SCOPE OF WORK : Being located centrally Jabalpur is well connected by rail and road with major parts of the country. Because of it's advantageous position many defence factories have come up since long time. More over Jabalpur is the head quarter of M.P.S.E.B (Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board) where bulk requirement is centrally purchased and supplied to various parts of the state.

MARKETING :

Study of the market revealed that the local units are not in a position to meet the requirement of these heavy industrial units. Under these circumstances various fabrication items are supplied from far of places like Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta etc.
Hence such unit has been set up for fabrication of various items using steel sheets round bars, angles, pipes etc. It is possible to supply the product at most competitive rates and also at short time notice. In case of urgent requirement the unit being a small scale unit deserve 10% price preference and enjoy the benefit of exemption from security deposit as per the policy of government. As such rates offered are quite competitive.


THE PROJECT & ITS USES:

The firm has developed all the necessary know - how and infrastructure to manufacture various items requiring fabrication. The materials used are mainly steel sheets, round bars, Brass Sheets, Copper, Aluminum Sheets,  S.S. Alloys, Steel etc. During the last ten years firm has manufactured various items like small Ammunition Components, Small Arms Components, High Accuracy Boxes (Various Types), Automobile Components, Special Purpose Springs & Material Handling Equipments.


MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:

The Senior Engineer of the firm is responsible for proper quality control and maintains proper documentation of various tests conducted for effective quality  control. He is assisted by experienced technical staff.

Additional technical qualified staff is also engaged for supervising different quality control tasks and proper documentation.


HANDLING, MARKETING, STORAGE, PACKAGING & DELIVERY:-

1.   Handling -- The finally approved charger boxes are identified and carefully  
      segregated  from those not tested / rejected.
2.   The product is marked by embossing with
      a.   "UMI"
      b.   Year of manufacture
      c.    Name of Product.
3.   Storage -- The product is required to be stored before effecting delivery.
     The covered area of shed is 40000sqft. Hence there is enough space for storage.
4.   Packaging -- the product is properly packed. Seal is affixed by Quality Assurance
     Officers. After the inspection note is issued. The product is dispatched for delivery
     to consignee. The packing is done to ensure that the product is not damaged during
     handling or transportation.

SERVICING:

The firm gives after sale service and gives one year warranty for any manufacturing defect. The firm undertake to replace the product immediately if necessary. Firm will also arrange supply of spares / components for the product supplied. The firm offers quality product and prompt after sale service.
